Possibly my favorite driving weather, even. I took a ~90 mile trip on mostly high speed roads, and was smiling the entire time. The rain is a good reminder of why I love the Forester. As fun as it is in “good” weather, it is even more fun in “bad” weather.

I found this Outback Sport today, too, which I’m sure would be just as fun. Also, I miss two-tone.

I too enjoy a drive in the rain. It can be quite relaxing...or not:

Also, that’s an Impreza.

Very heavy rain can be a nuisance. I still don’t mind it.

Also, the Outback Sport was a trim level of the Impreza (an appearance package, mostly.)

Driving in the rain is such a good opportunity to think I come out of the drive a wiser guy than I was.

I have that same generation of Forester. I love how it grips the road even when it’s raining. I drive through large puddles for fun ‘cause the AWD and VDC make the Forester not even hesitate going through them.

It makes you think more of the driving dynamics of the car than usual. At least, that's what I notice.

These cars grip so well that I often forget I'm driving in the rain. The only thing that reminds me is the rain on the windshield.

You could totally ad this kind of a two tone to your Fost.

I like the peace and the sound of the water, but yeah I do concentrate more on what I’m doing.

Nah, I’ll take a clear, sunny day over rain. Snow though, there’s not many things better or more peaceful than plowing through a few inches of untouched snow. It’s not often that it happens, but sometimes the storms hit just right that coincide with when I was going out anyway, it just makes my week. Even better when you’re the first set of tracks through it.

Rain can be quite peaceful, too, as long as there is no traffic. Fresh snow is fun as well, and something that I’m looking forward to this winter.

I could, but it wouldn’t look quite right. The two-tone on this generation Outback Sport was a decent fit, but not as great as previous generations. It really wouldn’t look right on the Forester.

The pre-facelift SG Forester was the last Forester to be able to pull off the two-tone look, in my opinion.

my sister in law has an 03 Forester in that “blurple” but the trim color is grey instead of he typical gold/tan. not sure it was OEM, because the car has been in at least one accident, but it looks great either way.

The grey textured plastic trim is OEM, and came on the “X” trim from 2003 to 2005. The painted trim, which was Steel Grey Metallic, came on the XS trim from 2003 to 2004.

The 2003-2005 XS Premium and the 2005 XS were monotone, while the 2005 L.L. Bean Edition was two-tone (the trim color was either Steel Grey or Platinum Silver depending on the main color). Starting in 2006 only the L.L. Bean Edition was two-tone (Steel Silver was the only trim color except for Platinum Silver on Aspen White cars). All XTs were monotone.

I’ve always liked Pacifica Blue.
